COMPANY PROFILE 6th September, 2006 A Government Utility responsible for supply of Electrical Power and Water includes generation, transmission and distribution in the city of Dubai and its suburbs invites applications for the following positions to be recruited immediately. They are looking for the following candidates 1. Senior / Junior Operators - Ref..JAP/125/05 - 100 Nos Degree / Diploma in Engineering (Mech./Elect./Power) Minimum 2-5 years Experiance in operation of a modern gas/thermal power & desalination station. The applicant shall be well versed in power/desalination plant operations through DCS system. Responsible for monitoring and operating the plant/equipment from the central control boards and optimise plant operation. Responsible for satisfactory operation of the assigned plant (Boiler,Turbine,Generator and Desalination Plant) with the appointed Crew. Surervise, instruct and co-ordinate with the assigned crew efficiently and effectively to fulfill their job functions and assignments. Check and review the operating conditions and records in order to investigate the weak and troublesome point in advance of any occurrence. Maintain the operating equipment and facilities in sound and clean condition. Maintain detailed operation logs for all operation activities. Carry out isolation of the equipment for planned and emergency maintenance and normalisation of the plant thereafter. Follow safety rules and ensure close adherence to the safety, environmental and quality requirments. Should be willing to work in shifts. 2. Engineer - Ref..CSD/298/05 Degree in Electrical Engineering Minimum 5 years practical experience with an electrical utility and/or contracting/consulting organization and have adequate knowledge for implementation of DEWA's Regulations for Electrical Installations. Capable of testing and fault rectification works on Low Voltage Installations ,underground cables ,Distribution Boards ,etc, Capability in designing low voltage electrical installations of high rise buildings ,installations ,etc, Capable to supervise a team of Asst. Engineers ,Formen ,Technicians and other field staff, familiar with modern test instruments and fault finding equipment for underground cables, knowledge on Safety Regulations and procedures for working in Substations domestic electric supply equipment ,etc ,conversant with field reporting &communication. 3. Asst. Engineer - Ref..CSD/299/05 Degree/Diploma (3 years Course) in Electrical Engineering 5/8 years practical experience with an electrical utility and/or contracting organization and capable of testing and fault rectification works on Low Voltage Installations, underground cables, Distribution Boards, etc., adequate knowledge of DEWA's Regulations for Electrical Installations, capable to review Drawings of Consumers' Low Voltage Wiring Installations and carry out inspection at sites, familiar with modern test instruments and fault finding equipment for underground cables, adequate knowledge on DEWA's Regulations for Electrical Installations, Safety Regulations and procedures for working in Substations domestic electric supply equipment,etc, conversant with field reporting &communication. 4. FOREMAN (Electrical) - Ref..CSD/300/05 Degree/Diploma (3 years Course) in Electrical Engineering Minimum 3/5 years experience in an electrical supply utility and/or contracting organization and capable of carrying out independently consumer's Low Voltage Wiring installation tests, tracing &fault rectification works in underground cables, distribution boards, installation of kWh meters, CT operated energy meters ,etc, capable to use modern test instruments &tools for testing and trouble shooting of Low Voltage installations, adequate knowledge on DEWA's Regulations for Electrical Installations, Safety Regulations and procedures for carrying out electrical installation works, conversant with field reporting &communication. 5. FOREMAN (WATER) Ref..CSD/301/05 Diploma in Civil /Mechanical Engineering Minimum 5 years practical experience in a Contracting/Supply utility Organization. Should be capable to supervise piper fitters & gangs effectively for tracing of underground Polyethylene Water lines, repairing breakage, read and mark Manager Admin. & Personnel for existing services, Polyethylene pipes etc and have knowledge on Safety Regulations and procedures. Should be willing to work in rotational shifts, round the clock. Conversant with field reporting & communication. 6. OFFICER (DRAUGHTSMAN)- Ref..CSD/302/05 Diploma in Electrical Engineering/Draughtsman Course from a recognized Institute Minimum 5 years experience in an electrical utility and/or Contracting Organization and shall be capable of efficiently carrying out independently site survey, develop/update underground LV Cable distribution network drawing. Should be computer literate/CAD and good command over English. 7. SUPERVISOR - Ref..CSD/303/05 Degree / Diploma (Min.3 years Technical Course) in Civil Engineering Minimum 5 years practical experience in a supply utility and/or contracting organization and capable to check special tools, machineries are in order, attend in-house meetings, visit to sites for Consumers complaints rectifications, co-ordinate with other departments etc. Should have knowledge of safety regulations and procedures for working in DEWA water networks. 8. SENIOR TECHNICIAN (ELECTRICAL) - Ref..CSD/304/05 Diploma (Min.3 years Technical Course) in Electrical Engineering Minimum 5 years practical experience in an electricity supply utility and/or contracting organization and capable to attend independently customer complaints rectification works of Low Voltage Installation, CT Operated energy meters, testing of LV cabling & wiring installation, trouble shooting etc. Should have knowledge of safety regulations and procedures for working in electrical substations/domestic electric supply equipment. Should be willing to work in rotational shifts, round the clock. 9. SENIOR TECHNICIAN (CABLE JOINTING) - Ref..CSD/305/05 Electrical Trade Certificate from a recognized Institute. Trade/Training Certificate for underground cable jointing from a recognized Institute Minimum 3 years experience in an electrical utility and/or contracting organization and shall be cable of efficiently carrying out underground LV cable jointing and termination works. Should be capable to use modern test instruments, equipment and work methods. Should have adequate knowledge for electrical installations, safety standards procedures for carrying our Low Voltage installation works. 10. TECHNICIAN (ELECTRICAL) - Ref..CSD/306/05 Electrical Diploma/ Electrical Trade Certificate from a recognized Institute. 3/5 years practical experience in an electricity supply utility and/or contracting organization and capable to attend independently customer complaints rectification works of Low Voltage Installation, CT Operated energy meters, testing of LV cabling & wiring installation, trouble shooting etc. Should have adequate knowledge DEWA Regulations for electrical Installations of Safety Regulations &procedures for working in electrical Substations/domestic electric supply equipment, .shall be willing to work in rotational shifts, round the clock. 11. TECHNICIAN (PIPE FITTER) - Ref..CSD/307/05 Trade Certificate from a recognized Institute. Minimum 5 years practical experience in an electricity utility and/or contracting organization and capable to attend plumbing works in residential and/or commercial projects such as building, Villas,etc. shall be capable to rectify consumer installation complaints.
