A Government Utility responsible for supply of Electrical Power and Water includes generation, transmission and distribution in the city of Dubai and its suburbs invites applications for the following positions to be recruited immediately. They are looking for the following candidates:
 


Senior System Engineer

Minimum
Qualifications :

Master Degree in Electrical Power System Engg.

 
Experience :

Experience shall be for 15 years. in an electrical utility with a minimum of 10 years spent in system analysis, studies and planning. The candidate will be leading a team, which is responsible for system expansion planning from 33kv upto 400 kv in the modern and very fast expanding community of Dubai.

 
Duties :

Duties will include load forecasting, system modeling and analysis. System analysis will include load flow, short circuit, stability and voltage stability analysis as part of planning studies. The candidate shall have a thorough knowledge of power system components in transmission, sub transmission and generation and be conversant with insulation coordination, and protection systems. The candidate shall be highly computer literate with practical knowledge of power system analysis software.

Distribution Planning Engineer

Minimum
Qualifications:

B.E. Electrical (Power)

 
Experience:

Minimum 8 years of experience out of which 5 years should be in Power System Planning, transmission and distribution system planning.

 
Duties:

Develop 132/11 kv distribution system planning long & short term. Collect system data and carry our load forecasting-long & short term. Look after the argumentation and special customers supply problems. Study the distribution system by using computer model. The applicant should have excellent computational, computer and communication skills.

Assistant Distribution Engineer (Maintenance)
Ref: MNT/40/03

  • Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering
    7/10 years experience in Electricity Distribution System Maintenance.  Ensure system reliability by maintaining/ attending distribution equipment in DEWA power system network.  Oversee the activities of maintenance groups and their reports regarding 33/11/6.6/0.4 kv substation equipment such as transformers, switchgears, ring main units low voltage distribution boards etc.  Inspection/checking, of substation during and after the outages, sites visits, joint inspection, pre-commissioning checks, follow up actions etc.  Attending emergency complaints, orientation of trainees, and preparation of procedures.  Updating of maintenance records/data in the computer.  Writing skills of technical specifications and reports.  Good knowledge of the International standards.  Should have thorough knowledge of safety rules and practices.  Literacy in computer.

Junior Engineer (T&CM)

  • Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering.
    5 years experience in EHV Substation design, testing and commissioning with a utility/ consultant turnkey contractor.  Shall be familiar with erection, site testing and commissioning activities of EHV substation equipment such as GIS, Transformer, MV/LV switchgear, etc. shall be able to supervise substation site project activities.  Literacy in computer.

Assist. Engr. (OHL Distribution)

  • Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering (Power)
    10 years experience in the field of design/ construction/ maintenance of Distribution OHLs.  To ensure reliable performance of (33/11/6.6 KV) OHLs, as well as to ensure quality field works of new OHL projects.  Field Supervision of construction and maintenance  works of (33/11/6.6 KV) OHLs, follow-up, reporting, recording of all activities etc.  Training in the relevant field.  Good writing skill of technical specification and reports.  Good knowledge on the relevant international standards (IEC, BS, etc.), computer and safety practices.

Asst.Engr. (OHL–Transmission)

  • Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering (power)
    10 years experience in the field of design/ construction/ maintenance of Transmission OHLs.  To ensure reliable performance of 400/132/33 KV OHLs, as well as, to ensure quality field works of new OHL projects.   Field Supervision of projects and maintenance activities of 400/132/33 KV OHLs, follow-up reporting and recording of all activities, etc.  Training in the relevant field.  Good writing skill of technical specification and reports.  Good knowledge of the relevant international standards (IEC, BS, etc.), computer and safety practices.

Asst. Protection & Metering Engr.

  • Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering
    10 years experience in relevant field. Practical experience in maintaining/ attending Protection, Metering, and commissioning work of Power System Network.  Able to read and write of protection scheme and drawing, write reports and prepare comments.  Inspection of protection and metering equipment at site and factory.  Attending emergency and co-ordinate the work, procurement of spares, staff control etc.  Preparation of tender documents and evaluation of the protection equipment. Supervise the installation and commissioning activities at site.  Attend tripping and carryout troubleshooting.  Testing and supervision of all type of relays in 400/132/33/11 KV system.  Training on Safety/ Computer/ Quality Procedure. Good writing skill of technical specification and reports.  Good knowledge of the relevant international standards (IEC, BS, etc.), computer and safety practices.

Protection Specialist
Ref.No. MNT/R-132/02

  • Bachelor Degree in electrical Engineering
    At least 20 years experience.  Shall overlook the Protection and Control of Transmission and Distribution network.  Must be thorough in theoretical and practical aspects of the job.  Shall possess capability to carryout investigation work on protection system; prepare protection schemes; knowledge to analyze abnormalities and recommend preventive action related to Protection and Control in 400/132/33/11 kv system, to recommend improvement/ upgradation of the protection and control system, carryout fault calculation and protection setting/ grading.  Shall be familiar with different type of latest protection, intertripping and fault recording equipment, maintenance and trouble shooting activities of the protection, intertripping and fault recording equipment.  Shall be able to supervise investigation and maintenance, Project, refurbishment, upgradation and modification related works as and when required.  Should have Training in Advance Protection Scheme and Equipment and good Computer Knowledge.  Thorough knowledge on the relevant international Standards (IEC, BS, etc.) technical specifications, computer and safety practicals.

Assistant Engineer (FPS)

  • Bachelor Degree in (Electrical/Electronics/Mechanical) Engineering
    10 years experience in Design, Installation, Testing and Commissioning, Trouble shooting, Repair and Maintenance of Fire Protection System, for Transmission and Distribution Substation.  To comment on drawings and documents of FPS as per fire codes.  Field/ Factory Training on testing, commissioning, trouble shooting and repair of Fire Protection System. Familiarity with hydraulic calculations.  Good knowledge of the relevant international standards (IEC, BS, etc.), computer and safety practices.

GIS Supervisor (132KV)

  • Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering
    10 years hands on experience in Mechanical maintenance, troubleshooting, dismantling and repair of 132KV GIS.  Must have experience in carrying out failure analysis of 132 KV GIS.  Should be conversant with maintenance of all types of control mechanism and servo valves applicable to 132KV GIS.  Should be a computer literate and shall be able to prepare maintenance schedules, technical specification reports etc.

Jr Engr(Dist S/S Maint)

Jr Engr(Protec. & Metering)

  • Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering
    5 years experience in related field.  Guide Foreman/ technicians and to carry out testing of meters, relays, fault recorders and intertripping units in HV networks.  Scrutiny of protection test reports and keeping records.  Investigation of protection tripping and carryout troubleshooting.  Knowledge of Commissioning activities of high voltage protection equipment and metering circuits.  Inspection of protection and metering equipment at site and factory. Attending emergency and co-ordinate the work, and routine works at stores, procurement of spares, staff control etc. Preparation of abnormality reports.  Testing of all type relays in 400/132/33/11 kV networks. Preparation of tender documents/ evaluation/ protection drawing and scheme for 132/33/11/6.6 kV system. Pilot cable related activities.  Must have knowledge on safety, computer and quality procedure.

Junior Engineer (DC System)

    5 years experience in a utility/ reputed company.  Ensure system reliability by maintaining/ attending DC system equipment.  Maintenance and supervision of all DC system equipment in 400/132/33/11/6.6 KV substations.  Modification/ upgradation in DC system.  Preparation of procedures etc.  up-dating of maintenance records/ data in the computer.  Writing technical specification/ report.  Training in relevant field.  Must have knowledge on International Standard, quality procedure, safety practice and computer.

Assist. Engr. (Dist S/S Maint)

  • Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering

    15 years experience in testing, commissioning and maintenance of 132/400 kv switchgear.  Shall be conversant with maintenance of Gas Insulated Switchgear and various international standards applicable to high voltage switchgears, familiar with electrical control diagrams, capable of trouble shooting in control circuits and giving comments on contractor’s drawing, writing technical specifications and reports.  Shall be a computer literate.

Engineer (T&CM)/Assistant Engineer(T&CM)

    15/10 years experience in EHV substation testing and commissioning with a utility/consultant/turnkey contractor.  Shall be familiar with technical specifications for EHV Substations, able to prepare and revise specifications and review and approve EHV substation design documents, drawing related to GIS, Transformer, MV/LV switchgears.  Shall be capable of supervising erection, testing and commissioning activities of 400/132kv transmission substation independently, familiar with layouts, interlocks and logics of EHV substation and relevant International Standards as well as computer literate.

Engineer (Protection)

  • Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering
    15 years experience in testing, commissioning and maintenance of protection relays in 400/132/33/11/6.6 kv transmission system.  Shall have knowledge of preparing specification, tender evaluation and checking of schematic drawing, capability to supervise the project works, prepare maintenance schedule and supervise the maintenance works related to 400/132/33/11/6.6kv protective equipment, experience in numerical relays trouble shoot in protection circuits, have knowledge of fault recorders, international standards, technical reports writing and computer.

Engineer (Cables)/ Assistant Engineer (Cables)

  • Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering
    8/5 years experience in Operation, Maintenance and repairs of Transmission 132kv EHV cables (Oil Filled and XLPE) and pilot cables.  To ensure system reliability by maintaining/ attending Transmission 132kv EHV cables.  Should have good command in cable design, drawing, specification, testing procedure of cable equipment, materials etc. as per international standards.  Capable of checking of as built drawings, fault location and trouble shooting of 132kv cables system, technical reports writing, handling of turnkey projects, contractor, and consultants, leading team during emergencies maintain records, correspondence, computer knowledge.

Engineer(Transformer)/Asst. Engr.(Transformer)

  • Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering
    15/10 years experience in preventive/breakdown maintenance and supervision of Installation/ testing/ commissioning of power transformers/ reactors.  Should be capable to scrutinize tender specifications, contract drawings, technical bids and reports.  Should have thorough knowledge of International Standards pertaining to transformer/ reactors.
