Job Description

Responsible for the design, configuration, implementation, testing, operations, documentation and troubleshooting of the Hughes Network Systems (HNS) Corporate network. Engineering support will include Cisco LAN/WAN network infrastructure, firewalls, and VPN architectures. Working with a team of engineers to monitor and oversee the daily network operations supporting HNS's global offices

Qualification/Skills

Requires bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience. Minimum related experience includes 5-7 years of hands-on network engineering, design, installation and troubleshooting with the use of network analyzers. Lead responsibility with detailed project management/leadership skills. LAN/WAN Products: Cisco (certifications are a plus, CCIE, CCNP). Requires working knowledge of switched Ethernet, IP, VLANs, Frame Relay, ATM, EIGRP, BGP, OSPF, T1, T3. ISDN, comprehension of the OSI reference model. Requires working knowledge of Enterprise LANs, WANs, Routers, switches, CSU/DSU, and related networking hardware. Requires understanding of the concepts of Internet, VPN, Intranet and Extranets. Requires effective verbal and written communications skills; effective problem-solving and decision making skills; team facilitation skills; individual coaching and mentoring skills; project management skills; negotiation and consensus building skills. Travel may be involved including air travel. Ability to work overtime and weekends as required.
