JOB DESCRIPTION :
We are seeking an “EMS Specialist (Production Planning)” in our “Energy Management System & Studies” section who shall be responsible for the Energy Management System requirements for administration, maintenance, and usage of the software, and databases. Furthermore, he shall use the EMS application for production planning purposes. The work includes but not limited to the following:

-- Uses EMS applications for best operation of the DEWA electrical system.

-- Coordinate and manage EMS engineering projects.

-- Interacts with other departments regarding EMS design, quality, testing and related issues to ensure adherence to EMS and that the users expectations and requirements are met.

-- Review the equipment/circuit parameter provided by the contractor.

-- Supervise the installation of the EMS, and keep the EMS applications usable.

-- Conduct daily review on the accuracy and functionality of the EMS application, and carryout necessary tuning and rectification.

-- Provide support and troubleshoot for any problem faced by the users.

-- Conduct training on all EMS applications for new engineer, and also refreshing trainings to the users on regular basis.

-- Write all required reports for the EMS, which requested by the superiors.

-- To handle / maintain EMS contractual related issues.

-- Involved in other activates such as: preparing documents & ISO procedures.

-- Perform all other duties assigned by superiors.

JOB DESCRIPTION :
The candidate

-- should have experience in Power system studies field.

-- would be responsible to maintain & improve Steady State and Dynamic PSS/E model for different purposes of studies, and carryout the specialized studies.

-- would be performing power system and engineering studies.

-- would be Providing technical support to field personnel.

--would be maintaining computer software and data to conduct power system and engineering studies.

-- would be reviewing reports prepared by others for completeness and format correctness.

-- would be responsible for preparing, maintaining & updating Steady State PSS/E Operation Model for current year and upcoming years.

-- would be preparing, maintaining & updating Dynamic PSS/E Operation Model for current year and upcoming years.

-- would be supervising Training requirements, conductance, and other activities.

-- would be supervising the section work in arranging the DTS trainings with different scenarios.

-- would be supervising the section work in arranging for the Work Permit and Caution Permit presentations and tests for the working parties.

-- be able to recommend/develop new tools (Software/Hardware) for the efficient utilization of the resources and increased productivity/safety.

- - should be able to be coordinate with all the team members and concerned departments to develop proper documentation formats and ensure the adherence to ISO procedures.

-- have excellent verbal, technical report writing and management skills with a high level of Computer literacy especially in MS Office and other engineering related softwares.

-- have in depth knowledge about operating modes of generating units, AGC & Load forecasting is a must.

-- be have knowledge of preparation of shutdown/synchronization plans of generating units & reports related to unit commitments and others.

-- be able to coordinate with all the concerned departments/stations to ensure the desired levels of generation reserves at all time.

-- have excellent verbal, technical report writing skills with a high level of Computer literacy especially in MS Office and other related software.

The candidate should
-- have experience in Power Utility.

-- have excellent knowledge of Operations involved in 400/132kV Substations and in Generating Stations, commissioning activities of 400/132 kV equipments, coordinating with various power stations for preparing shutdown/synchronization plan of generating units, mode of operations of generating units including AGC operation.

-- have good knowledge in EMS application, should have experience in preparing transmission operation related daily report, system abnormal report, ISO procedures, knowledge of safety rules, excellent verbal, technical report writing and managerial skills.
