A Government Utility responsible for supply of Electrical Power and Water includes generation, transmission and distribution in the city of Dubai and its suburbs invites applications for the following positions to be recruited immediately. They are looking for the following candidates:

31.Assistant Engineer Maintenance- Dist. Substation [SEM] Ref# MNT/264/05

Qualification: Degree in Electrical Engineering

Minimum 5 years experience in relevant field. To supervise preventive/breakdown & hands-on knowledge on maintenance of 132/11kV, 33/11-6.6kV and 11-6.6/0.4kV substation equipment, such as different types of CBs, transformers, RMU, LVDB, etc. by applying DEWA quality procedures and safety practices. To attend complaint /trouble shooting in electrical control circuits and equipment, mobile Diesel Generator basic operation, etc. To mobilize/support services for mobile diesel generators during cable faults, equipment failures and special events. To maintain and update maintenance records/ documents, as per DEWA quality procedures. Should have basic knowledge on ISO and Occupational Health & Safety Practices. To have ability to train subordinates on maintenance and safety rules or any other duties as assigned by superiors. To have good writing skills on technical reports and basic computer knowledge.

32.Senior Electrician [SEM] Ref# MNT/266/05

Qualification: Diploma / Trade Certificate in Electrical Engineering (2 years)

Minimum 5 years overall experience with minimum 3 years relevant experience with a utility or reputed electrical organization. Hands-on knowledge for maintenance of 33/11/6.6kV switchgears and capacitor banks, mobile Diesel Generator operation & maintenance, etc. To perform inspection and checking of MV/LV switchgears, trouble-shooting, complaint rectification, wiring and wiring rectification of control panels of 33/11/6.6kV switchgears by applying all safety practices and quality procedures. Should have basic knowledge on ISO and Occupational Health & Safety Practices. Should have basic knowledge on computer applications.

33.Supervisor [SEM] Ref# MNT/267/05

Qualification: Degree/ Diploma Certificate in Electrical Engineering

Minimum 5 years experience for degree or 10 years experience for diploma in relevant field. Maintenance of 132/11kV, 33/11-6.6kV and 11-6.6/0.4kV substation equipment by applying DEWA quality procedures and safety practices. To supervise and attend preventive maintenance of distribution substation equipment. To handle emergency breakdown complaints, trouble shooting and fault rectification regarding the above mentioned substation equipment, mobile Diesel Generator operation, etc. Should have basic idea on ISO and Occupational Health & Safety Practices. To ensure and apply safety practices as per the rules. Any other duties as assigned by his superiors. To have the ability to handle a group of technicians during emergencies/special events. To have training in relevant fields & good writing skills on technical reports. Good knowledge of the International Standards & basic computer knowledge.

34.Foreman [SEM] Ref# MNT/268/05

Qualification: Diploma / Trade Certificate in Electrical Engineering

Minimum 8 years experience in relevant field for maintenance of 132/11kV, 33/11-6.6kV and 11-6.6/0.4kV substation equipment by applying DEWA quality procedures and safety practices. To supervise and attend preventive maintenance of distribution substation equipment, mobile Diesel Generator operation & maintenance. To handle emergency breakdown complaints, trouble shooting and fault rectifications on distribution substation equipment. Should have basic idea on ISO and Occupational Health & Safety Practices. 35.Assistant Engineer – Cable Jointing [CTFR] Ref# MNT/269/05

Qualification: Degree or Diploma in Electrical & Electronics Engineering

Minimum of 7 years experience for Degree Holders and 10 years for Diploma Holders in underground power cable installation projects in a power utility organization. Shall have thorough experience in underground distribution cable jointing supervision of Medium Voltage XLPE, PILC and Pilot cables.Good knowledge of industry and international standards with regard to Medium voltage distribution cables up to 33KV. Working knowledge in various cable system configurations, bonding, sheath voltage limiter. Ability to lead a team of jointers and labourers in attending emergency cable fault repair works. Good material management experience and ability to manage inventory of jointing accessories. Good knowledge of relevant international standards and safety regulations and procedures for working in substations and applicable high voltage. Computer literate and fluency in written and spoken English. Age below Forty.

36.Assistant Engineer – Distribution Cables [CTFR] Ref# MNT/270/05

Qualification: Degree Or Diploma in Electrical & Electronics Engineering

Minimum of seven years experience for degree holders and 10 years for diploma holders in underground medium voltage power & Pilot cable maintenance in a power utility organization. Shall have experience in underground distribution cable fault location using sophisticated Cable test vans/portable equipments and supervision of the complete repairing process including excavation, cable jointing and termination works. (up to 33 kV System Voltage). Good knowledge on medium voltage XLPE and PILC power and Pilot Cable construction details. Condition monitoring testing of medium voltage power Cable circuits using Partial Discharge and Tan Delta measuring systems. VLF, AC & DC high voltage testing on Medium voltage Cables and Switchgears. Insulation and continuity testing of Cable circuits. Route tracing and Identification of medium voltage cables using relevant equipments. Ability to lead a large multi lingual work force. Good knowledge of Relevant International Standards and Safety regulations and procedures for working in Sub Stations and applicable to High voltage.Computer Literate and fluency in written and spoken English.

37.Senior Electrician/Electrician/Technician [CTFR] Ref# MNT/271/05

Qualification: Diploma in Engineering or ITI Trade Certificate

Minimum of Five years experience for Diploma holders and Ten years for ITI holders in the Medium voltage underground cable maintenance. Reading wiring diagrams and drawings and carry out panel wiring independently. Pilot cable/LV cable glanding and terminations. Preparation of cable ends for testing works. Installation and connection of testing equipment and test van in substations. Use of Meggers, Multimeters, LCR meters and other testing equipment. Assisting Engineers/Foremen during cable fault location, testing, route tracing and identifications. Experience in Maintenance of Test equipments. Familiar with all Electrical Safety regulations. Applicant should be fluent in English. Computer Literate. Age Not more than Thirty.

38.Cable Jointer [CTFR] Ref# MNT/272/05

Qualification: Trade Certificate or Equivalent

Minimum of Five years of experience as a cable jointer. Shall independently carry out Jointing and Termination of works of Medium Voltage (6.6/11/33KV) Power cables and Pilot Cables. Knowledge of working with XLPE, PILC and ERP cables of different capacities is essential. Shall have knowledge of different jointing techniques like Heat Shrink and cold shrink, Pre mould, Cast Resin etc. Able bodied and shall have the capacity to work in hot and humid out door sites for long hours and in shifts. Shall be familiar with All relevant Safety regulations. Working knowledge of English and ability to follow Manufacturer’s manuals, etc. Age below Thirty.

39.Draughtsman – Electrical [CTFR] Ref# MNT/276/05

Qualification: Diploma in Electrical Draughtsman course/Certification from AutoDesk®

Minimum three years experience as a Draughtsman or in a similar position in a Design/Engineering or power utility. The following experience is desirable: Drafting of Electrical drawings like single line diagrams, electrical wiring diagrams and layouts. High level of computer skills including windows operating systems, MS office, Adobe and Internet applications and also configuring plotters. Familiarization with GIS applications such as ESRI Arc MAP® applications to electricity and water networks. Sound knowledge of use of AutoCAD and other CAD software’s. Will be responsible for updating GIS, modification data entry/processing, providing training and technical support to other staff. Should have good command over English both written and spoken and should have good interpersonal skills. Age below Thirty.

Qualification: Diploma in Civil Draughtsman course/Certification from AutoDesk®
